GAME-BASED LEARNING
System Override: Education Mode
THE CORE LOOP
The core loop is the central action repeated throughout a game. In Game-Based Learning (GBL), this is the "Learn - Apply - Fail - Repeat" cycle. Instead of memorizing facts, information becomes the mechanic required to progress.
INSTANT FEEDBACK
Traditional education makes you wait weeks for exam results. GBL provides immediate feedback. Making a mistake isn't a permanent failure; it's a "Respawn" mechanic that encourages immediate correction and risk-taking.
ASSESSMENTS AS BOSS FIGHTS
Midterms and finals don't have to be stressful paper tests. In GBL, assessments are "Boss Fights" where you must combine all the skills and knowledge you've gathered to overcome a complex, dynamic challenge.
FLOW STATE & PROGRESSION
A well-designed game keeps you in the "Flow Zone"—neither too easy (boring) nor too hard (frustrating). It scales difficulty perfectly with your rising competence, keeping you deeply immersed in the learning process.
